I cannot speak for the OP who you are asking that of, but I gotta tell you, I love your question. You may have a long career ahead of you and you are currently witnessing the rise and fall of LMPD. Uniform means "uniformity". Our agency looks so unprofessional and raggedy with too many individual choices and no solid rules when it comes to the uniform. I might be the last officer wearing a Class A uniform and high gloss shoes, but you will never see me in a pair of shorts and sneakers while working. Period.
