Sounds like Denver PD has a problem with appointed positions. What the hell is their collective bargaining unit thinking? If the position is appointed, then it can be unappointed. No civil service rank or position should be appointed unless it is a highly sensitive position like PIU or PSU or the rank of Major or above. Doesn’t sound like the officers in Denver have much of a chance of fighting this issue.
