DPD Chief To Cops: ‘Reapply For Your Jobs’

Sounds like Denver PD has a problem with appointed positions. What the hell is their collective bargaining unit thinking? If the position is appointed, then it can be unappointed. No civil service rank or position should be appointed unless it is a highly sensitive position like PIU or PSU or the rank of Major or above. Doesn’t sound like the officers in Denver have much of a chance of fighting this issue.

Obviously he is setting up his good ol' boy system just like he did with LMPD. I am sure he will destroy that department as well. I'm sure he will be even more corrupt than when he was here. Just thank God he is no longer here!!!

Hey everyone, I recently came upon this site as I am trying get on with LMPD but I need to know if I am wasting my time. I am basically a good person but was wondering if a few mistakes I made in the past will keep me from getting hired. I am 31 years old and I have been arrested before (actually several times—about 8 times). They were all misdemeanors and I haven't been arrested since 2009. It was for a felony but the charge wound up getting busted down to a misdemeanor. I got caught stealing out of Walgreen's too. I admit I stole seven boxes of Excedrin because I was having a bad headache from my girlfriend stressing me out. I am not with her anymore because she has a restraining order on me which will be dropped when I go back to court in September. I know I will make a very good officer and I even look like a police officer people say. Whenever I drive on the expressway in my Crown Victrola people do a double take because they think I'm already the police because I had a spotlight installed on the car. I also have a psychologist I see normally, but this is just temporary. She said I would be unfit to be a police officer and has refused to support my dreams. I would love any honest advice. If you're going to just be a hater, don't bother responding.
