New Kentucky State Police cruisers will be Chevrolets instead of Fords

I agree. I think the front wheel drive thing is big. I wouldn't be surprised if Ford did a little backpedaling and designed or reintroduced another vehicle (more suited for patrol) soon. Personally, I think the Chevy looks a little rent-a-cop like. Not sure what type of car the State boys should drive, but not a fan of that one.

LMPD is ordering the all-wheel drive models of the new Interceptor (based on the Taurus frame). We also are the only city with two Ford plants and we will order Fords exclusively unless we need something they don't make. It's a way of showing our appreciation for a company that has invested so much into our town. Lexington has no such obligations.

ps- even the base model Taurus with the 3.5 (no-turbo) engine is faster than the Crown Vic which weighs almost 5,000 lbs. and has a 4.6 V-8. We will have to wait and see about it's reliability when the time comes.
