I thought the same thing. Not as much the one for the saving the citizen. Mostly the Purple Heart. There have been plenty of officers seriously hurt in vehicle crashes on duty. More than one has had to retire because of their injuries in those crashes. Nothing against the officer in this article, whatsoever. This is the first in my memory that I have heard of,just an observation.
