I never could understand the reason for announcing how many prisoners there are "on the wall" either. If it is so officers can make a decision whether to arrest someone or not, does anyone else see the lack of ethics in that? At best it is a selfish motivation on whether one is arrested. Commanding officers need to speak up and cut this practice out.
