New Chief to address alleged police misconduct

Same here.... wish I had thought to ask someone to record it

I think he is going to be good for us, he was there well over two hours ( I ended up leaving after 2 hrs 15 mins.) and he was still going strong. He started off coming around the room shaking everybody's hand thanking us for being there on our time. He stated he is going to work with us not above us. He stated it was never his plan to come in and start cutting upper command, he stated they all know his expectation and he is going to give it time. He stated he is not going to take cars and stated the only reason he did in AZ is because the finances of that Dept were so poor, they had no choice. He said when he left 3/4 of the Dept had them back, starting with patrol and as of now Lt and above still do not have them back. He is going to look into the shop. He stated morale is on the backs of the Sergeants (examples he gave are-"I do not approve your vacation time, give you raises" day to day operations., etc...) He stated he is going to work with the FOP-he stated the first day he met with Dave and has since been to lunch with him-he stated when he went to lunch he took his staff to show his staff the relationship he wants with the FOP. He stated he is going to keep D Simms (not in those words, but that's what he meant)- I think he said we need to find a happy median in reference to him/ policy.

He stated revenue for the city is on the way up-he stated there is 70 discipline reviews on his desk waiting because Chief Burks could not.

He stated Wed 04/25 he is going to take his phone and laptop and work out of the 1st Div. to be available for questions if you want to stop by, he stated he is going to do that at every Div.
