Pls cut the city/county crap. We all came from somewhere - even I, but we are all on the same team now. It is what it is. It was what it was. Now.... lets fights for US.

You all really need to give the old "City vs. County" thing a rest.

Your statement about higher crime in the "real police" (interesting choice of words on your part, BTW) jurisdiction is a matter of simple Social Economics. The fact that LPD dealt with a higher concentration of low-income areas (along with a more dense population) than JCPD can explain that. It doesn't have anything to do with the collective abilities of either departments' officers.

I happened to have come from the City side. I worked with some great people...I also knew of some slugs on the department. Since merger, I've come to know some outstanding County folks...and yes, have also seen some real County slugs.

The point is, we're all blue, and are all on the same team (for over 9 years now). Truth be known, the number of pre-merger folks is dwindling, so it's more of a moot issue now anyway.

It's too bad some of you don't understand that you will achieve so much more by working together than by attacking one another.

I've retired, and still do miss some aspects of the job, and the people I worked with. But as this back-stabbing mentality continues to become more pervasive within the department (as it appears to be doing), it makes me feel both sorry for those who have years left to work, and happy that I am no longer exposed to the negativity that so many of you seem to enjoy spewing forth.

Those who insist on being so negative all the time, just take a breath and try to see the glass as half-full just one time. You may be surprised at how a little positive attitude can affect you in a good way.
