AMAZING STORY
I am truly amazed that tiny piece of tin on his chest with vest saved his life!
"It was like time had stopped for a second."
Although I do not know him personally, he deserves all the recognition he receives. Now HE and the others who apprehended the three suspects are heroes. Good job to everyone. You made everyone proud.

Hopefully the thugs don't go before Judge Armstrong. Read following article:

In the Stoner case I would like to know how was he hired if he was under investigation at JCCD? Did he pass his polygraph? If not was he passed through the process anyway just because the chiefs office got involved?
Lots of questions that need to be answered.

an excellent post
I am not the author, however, she or he shares my feelings and articulated it. Read and believe:
"The simple answer, is to hire the best qualified applicant, not hire them based on sex or skin color. If you want more minority candidates, go get them. Don't just hire them so you can have the numbers. There have to be better people out there. And, if recruitment does not recommend their hire, don't hire them. That seems to be a theme around this place, do things because of numbers. So, far, it has not worked, either in hiring or compstat. More tickets don't mean fewer fatalities. More arrests don't just simply drop crime. Quality versus quantity. Something this place has not had an appreciation for."
I wish people knew how much they insulted intelligent officers of different colors and genders when they hire grade A fools just so they have the MINORITY NUMBERS. These hiring practices do a disservice to current officers, people of color, women, and most importantly the tax paying citizen.
Also, COMSTAT is a flaming joke.
Stay safe and back each other up,
your beat partner
