I think it's good this was shown and the emails (which we should all remember are subject to open records requests) convey a clear ethical and moral objection on the part of the officers involved. People in this city always want to cry corruption about the police, but this story is a perfect example that the court system, judges and lawyers are where the real corruption lies. Well done to the officers who didn't just ignore this happening. I don't expect any real change from this story, but still glad it got some coverage in the light of day

this reporter touched the tip of the iceberg in uncovering the corruption in Jefferson District Court. I hope their is further investigation a the public sees just in fact how corrupt their elected representatives are.

if burg 1st is a violent felony offense (which it is) then why wasn't the door kicked in when they saw her look out of the window? that is still allowed, no need for an additional search warrant. if the prosecutor is so worried about impropriety, why not file a complaint with the bar association? see below

"In the Havill case, the summons shows judge Armstrong actually assigned the case to his own courtroom, even though it was supposed to be assigned elsewhere according to the defendant's last name." talk to defense attorney, rules change. pretty sure that is a bar complaint against judge's bar card meaning he has to step away from the case

“If that warrant is changed to a summons, what's the big deal? It shouldn't be a big deal to them,” Clay said.

Meanwhile judges and defense attorneys continue to have private conversations."

HERE IS THE BIG DEAL T CLAY, IT MEANS THE JUDGE ISN'T IMPARTIAL OR LOOKING AT THE CASE IMPARTIALLY LET ALONE FAIRLY WITH THE INTENT ON SEEKING TRUTH AND JUSTICE. THAT'S THE BIG DEAL. THE SCALES AND BLINDFOLD MEAN ANYTHING ANYMORE TO YOU OR JUST THE CAMERA?
