No he is not BUT by being politically correct he will. I believe EVERYONE should have input into who the next chief is. It just appears that they will want to appease the West End just on who they want because they do not want to upset anyone from over there. I can guarantee that if Gentry does not make chief there will be a cry of injustice and racism made. Not to say that some will not say that if she does make it but they will be called racist just on the basics of not backing a black woman. Is it racist to want someone who is black in the position of chief just because she is black? If it is not then it should not be racist for someone who want a white in the chiefs office. As for me, I want the most qualified person in there. Really don't care what their race or sex is. But DON"T lower the standards just to appear politically correct.

Well actually it was the vote of the west end when another candidate for Mayor gave his support the Fischer that put him over the top and won the election for him. He will do what is necessary to keep their vote. Even if that means appointing someone who is absolutely not qualified for the position yet. While the lady in question is a good and caring person and may someday be a very qualified candidate for the position she is not now compared to the others on the list. But that is how the real world works so if she is to get the job life will go on and Officers just need to carry on the best they can and hope for the best.

Coming from someone who lived in the west end, Since when has anyone cared about the west end? Whens the last time a mayor has actually seen some of the living conditions of the residences in the west end, specifically Russell and done anything about it.
