Basically it's a detail platoon of officers that come from all divisions and platoons. Word is they take like 2 from each division, maybe 2 from each platoon in each division, and make the virtual 9th out of that. Then that 9th division gets sent to where ever they are needed for whatever purpose. Not sure if it's on a volunteer basis or if it's going to be the low stat people. But, then again who knows.

This has been the whole problem with LMPD in the past. Why are we even talking about a 9th Division when we all know of the manpower shortages in the divisions we have now? Sometimes I wonder if there is any real thought put into these proposals before somebody just decides to pull the trigger and do it. We do not need a 9th Division. We need to go back to basic police work and learn how to become more effective with the coverage we have. No, I never said I was an expert. But I have experience and common sense.

It is a way to avoid paying over time. Why run an over time detail like SAVE when you can get people to volunteer to change their schedule?
