Officer shot in the Portland neighborhood, second officer transported to hospital |
RE: Officer shot in the Portland neighborhood, second officer...
The only thing I can really respond to is your question about the EMT. Do you truly believe that officers knew that he had stabbed himself when they escorted him to the hospital? They were under the impression that an EMT was randomly attacked while preparing an ambulance for his shift. I can only speak for myself when I say had I known he had stabbed himself, I would have let him drive himself to the hospital for treatment. Do not misrepresent the full set of facts here. You are speaking as if they gave him an escort knowing full well he stabbed himself. No. They behaved and decided a course of action based on limited information, which is often the case. And if a soldier, firefighter, EMT or police officer is perceived to be wounded performing their duties, until an investigation shows otherwise, I believe they deserve to be rushed to the hospital with an escort. You do not. That won't change. And that's going to have to be okay.
As for the other remarks about the way some people have treated you here, or how BP & Paul allegedly acted, I am not one of those people, so I can't, in good conscience, comment. I simply know I've seen plenty of citizens post here, some positive, some negative, but I won't generalize them all. Until *I* treat you as the others have, there is no need for sweeping statements. I disagree that I should have to apologize for the way the news perpetuates reality. That is not my burden to bear. I appreciate your response and I respect your opinion, but you and I disagree and will only go round and round in circles if one of us doesn't bow out. I could write another lengthy post, but I see there is just too much disagreement for anything to be accomplished by more of my "argument" against what you believe are facts.
