Officer shot in the Portland neighborhood, second officer transported to hospital

What an idiotic comment! These officers were putting their lives on the line for you and me! When an officer is assaulted there SHOULD be every effort made to apprehend the assailant, no matter if does require some inconvenience to you. As for the escorts and street closings, these officer have earned that for all they do in the line of duty each time they step onto the streets. To save you the comment, No, I am not a police officer, just a citizen who appreciates the service our police provide for our community. I have four officers in my family and I know a lot about what they do in the line of duty. I say, "God bless them, one and all!"

First, why don't you just shut the ...... up and recognize that these officers were attempting to stop a dangerous threat to our community. The difference is that officers do code 3 people to the hospital all the time, just does not make the news. What it sounds like is you are a drag on society, jealous that you do not have the moral courage or fortitude(big word for ya so look it up), nor the mental capacity to do what these guys are willing to do at a moments notice in defense of good or bad people. Basically, if you desire the same respect or treatment, step up or shut up. As much as these guys do in service to our community, a minute or two inconvenience is not a lot,
