It was more of a response to the generalizations I see on here so much of the time regarding the perceived lack of respect for the beat guys (from those in specialty units), from the beat guys.

However, I will call you on the one part of your original post that you quoted above, "...patrol is considered beneath everyone.":

To whom are you referring as being the ones considering patrol beneath them? Your statement implies that everyone who isn't in patrol feels that way...that is why I used the term "broad brush".

The guys in the "special" units seem to think they are the "upper Class" of Lmpd. They are arrogant. I knoe because I know some of them. they call themselves the Elite..So It reflects at times on other officers.people who see this tend to associate All police are rude and arrogant. Sad but TRUE.Some of those officers need a reality check. They are no better than others even if they are in a special unit....
