Constable in shopper shooting says Walmart security asked his help

Talk about vague, so what does it mean? If they wear a blue or brown uniform, is that enough? He wears a tan uniform so he's safe on that - and his badge is a simple, stock oval badge that says constable, etc. (Not sure if it is a new badge or the same one he had made originally.)
