Exactly, he is Devers problem now...... Thank God. Many, Many, Many prayers have been answered. Thank you Denver for taking him. And thank you god for getting him out of this Dept.

He needs to take Oz Gibson and Kenton Buckner with him. How this dept needs 4 Lieutenant Colonels is beyond me, We are not as big as the Los Angeles Police Dept. The Mayor wants to cut back on money, WELL THERE IS TWO HUGE PAYING POSITIONS THERE TO CUT. We dont need them, they dont do anything anyway. White just took care of his faithful followers.

Mayor Fischer is a smart man, a business owner/operator. I'm sure he will have input regarding the police depts budget. And yes we have way to many Lieutenants which make 70K a year, along with Robert White adding two new Colonel positions which Gibson & Buckner filled. Prime example as stated earlier---then Sergeant Carolyn Nunn in the 4th Division who was an Administrative Sergeant got promoted to Lieutenant and she stayed in the 4th Division doing the same job as an administrative sergeant, but now making Lieutenants pay. How does that make any sense. I'm glad she got promoted, but it makes no sense to promote someone and they make more money doing the same job!!!! Talk about wasteful spending of tax dollars. And get rid of the two added Lieutenant Colonel positions that Gibson and Buckner filled, We dont need them. They are never there in the office anyway!!!!

Mayor, bring in a new set of eyes to this Dept. Things will not change with the current staff. We need a new set of eyes to run this dept.

I'm sure Mayor Fischer knows what's said on this site. So here goes, if you want to gain respect from this dept then put someone in the exchiefs place that will get rid of his faithful pack of mistakes that are still left downtown. Get someone who will go back to locking up badguys and trying to reduce crime vs padding statistics at comstat meeting like they are doing now. Everybody want to do their job but can't because the leftover command will continue to badger the troops. CLEAN HOUSE MAYOR because it will be the only way you can get Morale back to where it needs to be. When your employees are happy they produce as a business man you know that.

Vince Roberson would be the only one out of the current command staff who I would like to see Chief. If it came down to just this current command staff. But I personally would also like a set of new eyes to lead this dept. A pair of new eyes will lead this Dept in a new direction. And boost moral. If one of the current command staff members get promoted they will definitely keep running this dept as Chief White has for the past 9 years. Because that is all they know. We need a new set of eyes.

From what I have been reading, Denver sounds as much of a liberal city as Louisville. He may be a perfect fit. They can have him. Of course if one of his faithful subjects is to replace him, all the posts made here are pointless. Things will remain the same. Lets hope the mayor is as smart as some believe him to be.

I'm in law enforcement and haven't had much training so I need to ask a question....If I'm working off duty at mal wart, and a shoplifter runs away, is it ok 2 fire warning shots in the air?

I will throw by useless two cents in like the rest. I think Gentry would make an awesome Chief... Any one of us who was offered the jobs she has been (abv Lt. which she earned) would have jumped at it. She was not the Chief for the past 9 years and could not directly make changes without losing out on her 3rd in command spot. I have knowledge of many disagreements she has made with the Chief but lost out because he had the final say. I was with her first hand doing "REAL" police work, what ever ****** that is in some of your eyes. I would stand side by side with her any day of the week! I think if she were in the TOP spot she would make an excellent Chief and some of the BS would stop....but things change from sgt to Lt. and Lt. to Major and Major to Lt. Col and to Col...but I actually hope she is selected as Chief and we would all be proud to wear the uniform for her... If she is slected I WILL NOT BE WRONG! I just pray Buck and Ozzy are gone!

He has done an outstanding job with SAVE and it's time he is recgonized for his undeniable skill! He can lead us to where we need to be!

I have full faith in our Mayor. I believe he will take everyone's input and get us a top notch Chief.

Ive had a former Chief as a college professor and have to talked to over 75 officers individually and every one of them either had nothing good to say about this man or outright hated him. Morale is way down, good officers are leaving for other department, and his kids are beating their wives, good rittens White. Now Denver will have to deal with a bad football team and Police Department!!!!

A LT made the comment that the mayor clearly stated that the new chief will have to have a degree and MUST have attended either Northwester, SPI or the FBI academy...Now, I dont know about everybody, but someone on the chiefs staff right now does not meet those qualifications...YG....Now what do we think will happen
