Police recruit arrested; accused of rape, sodomy

Nope your right we were not there, but it must be serious or they would not have arrested him. I have been there done that. When they dont think its serious they do no investigation! Its my belief that every complaint of this nature should be taken serious. If i were a regular citizen coming in making this complaint dont you think the officer would have even been informed a complaint was made against him or questioned. Never happened in my case. Took my statement, transcribed it and that was all. Took 5 months for that to even happen. At least this girl is getting a chance to prove what happened to her. I never got that chance. "Banged" that is a typical word used in demeaning females. You must be a male. This talk is one of the reasons violence toward women is so normal today. Men along with society have become so desensitized to how this behavior affects females in society today. Rape is increasingly normalized by cultural values and rapists are almost always so called normal boys and men who respond to the social attitudes about power, sex, and control in relationships. Rape is a mens issue as well. 99.8% of rapes are perpetrated by males. Framing it solely as a female issue gives men permission not to address it. Rape is not a sexual act. Men dont rape in an effort to get sex. Rapists use sex in an effort to get power and control. Sex is the method and not the goal of rape. Males constantly receive socialization that endorses the use of power,control, and privilege in relationships with women. Women dont put themselves in a position to be raped, rapists put women in the position to be raped. If it had not beenfor a rapist in the environment the same behaviours the woman was doing when she was raped (nothing passed out) would not have resulted in a rape. The law says that the rapist is 100% to blame even if the victim is intoxicated. 85% of all rape victims know their attacker. Only 10-16% of all rapes are reported at the time of the rape. Why??? Because of fear no one will believe us. Which is due to the normalizaton of this behavior in society. 1 in 6 females has been sexually assaulted and 1 in 9 males. Only one in 16 rapists ever spend a day in jail. How sad these statistics are. After my ordeal with LMPD it is my belief that there needs to be alot more training in this area for officers. As hard as it is to come forward and tell details about this experience, i know ive been there done that, i must say i believe this girl and i am so so proud of her for having the guts to come forward! I would guarantee more officers let the power go to their heads then the public will ever know. And for the record i am not speaking smack just my opinion.
