Neither one is good, I agree, but do you REALLY want to work forced OT regularly? Most guys I know have regular off-duty gigs, and if you get held over, that means you have to blow off the off-duty gig, then what? Scheduled OT is not the issue, forces are. Sad thing is, I know several great EMS folks who would like to work for LMEMS, but are not considered because they wouldn't be coming from high volume agencies. Yet, they hire newbies off the street. I can't figure out their hiring plan at all.
