I'm taking sides with the original poster. Our FOP is very ineffective, and we all know it. Most officers will say out loud that the only reason they are still in it is because of the Legal Defense Fund and they have no confidence in the FOP. Other than the Legal Defense Fund, the FOP is worthless. They have no power to do more than what the City wants. I had an incident and needed the FOP for advice. I was really turned off by DM's refusal to return calls. That's ok, I didn't need you anyway.

OK tough guy.........FOP Lodge 6204 Price Lane Rd Louisville, KY 40229.***** Tuesday Oct. 18th 2011 1830 hours****. Be there and raise your issues that we may not want to hear as you put it. We will know you showed when you bring up all your alleged issues that we may not want to hear. And yes if you have not ever been to a meeting any member is allowed to speak, so no excuses now, it's put up or shut up time my friend. If not then go back and hide behind your keyboard. And also feel free to poll the dept or for that matter bring some friends that are members to the meeting that feel the same way you do.

And what will be even more special is that this meeting is the time and place for nominations for office with the lodge. WOW! What an opportunity you have, you can run for President and since the whole dept feels the same as you do (according to you) with the current state of the lodge YOU can get elected in a landslide and change things for the better.

Hope to see you there brother or sister!!
