Read it again, this is not what LMEMS gets, it is forced OT holdover time. A lot of LMPD officers have committments right after shift, do you REALLY want to be told 15 minutes before the end of your shift that your relief called in sick and you have to work at least another 4 hours and maybe 8 hours, and ohhhh, be back at your usual time tomorrow, too? Scheduled, posted OT isn't the issue, it is back to back forces. Yes, the check may look nice (if not eaten up by taxes) but when it gets swallowed up in paying for emergency child care and missing family time, what's the point? In other words, you don't get the choice, you have to work it NO MATTER WHAT.
