... making a 2 car run with 1 person. Yes radio will send you on 1 and get you backup when some CLEARS. All they want is their screen cleared so they can go back to what ever there doing. We need a administrator in the radio room screening calls and stop sending officer on bags of trash or my 6 year old won't go to school.

You make some valid points. Officer safety should always come first. LMPD is top heavy and has too many specialty units. Patrol is horribly understaffed and not getting any better.

as to "The Radio Room" MetroSafe does not allow the calltakers or dispatchers the option of telling our great citizens, "This is not a Police issue" or "This is a Civil Matter." anymore. Management is afraid of the liability of not sending an officer on "My 6 year old won't go to school" Your C.O.'s need to grow a set, and say "We aren't making this!" as it is no longer Radio's call to make.

As far as "getting back to what I was doing before..."

I'm trying to clear your "Quadrupled Run" volume the best I can with 10 or less cars on the beat! (Not counting the ones 10-7 at the Credit Union or the Car Wash)

STAY SAFE.

Please know your facts before chastising our FOP. Your assertion that our contract says there will be no changing of off days to avoid paying overtime is not correct. Our contract says that schedules will be modified as far in advance as possible to accommodate details. It also says that no off days will be changed unless five days notice is given. What it does say about overtime is that schedules will not be changed within a given work week SOLEY TO AVOID PAYING OVERTIME. If your off days have been changed without five days notice or your schedule modified during the week SOLEY to avoid overtime then I suggest you contact your FOP. Otherwise, I suggest you read up on your contract so that you can accurately and intelligently comment.
