Ahhhh...I feel all warm and fuzzy now!

Yeah- I hear the exact same thing from others on the dpt; and all of them who spout this kind of propoganda are always "one of the boys". As long as you say 'yes sir', and NEVER offer a dissenting opinion, you'll be golden- one of the boys. The first time you point out that the 'Emporer has no clothes!' you're going to have a totally different experience- and career. When your told to do something stupid, reckless, or just plain wrong 'because I said so' and don't tow the party line- you're 'a problem'. Complain about something? -You're a whiner. Bring up a problem with an idea that a CO came up with? You're not a team player.

This department does not want you to think for yourself. They want you to follow their policy, letter for letter, no matter the consequence. -policies written by CO's that got their spot by first becoming a SGT from a written test and 'role playing' scenarios. NO consideration was given on what kind of officer the person was, his disciplinary record, etc. POOF! You're now a person in charge of other officers and responsible for the direction of the dpt.

-A BAD system. Oh,, but wait...if you say that out loud, you're not a team player. You're going to get the crap details, you're going to get equipment last, you're never going to get that specialty unit spot, etc, because they want their buddies in there with them.

So start the flaming, I know it's inevitable; but I'll bet you're on of the boys- I'll bet you play(ed) on the softball team, go golfing with the CO's and go out drinking and whoring with the other boys.
