I work for the state and we have had furlough days all year. It has put a dent in my pay check since I was already on the very low end of the pay scale. So I understand how the city employees feel. However, the mayor said those who make 70,000 and above will be furloughed. The Governor needs to take teh mayors stand on that and have high paying officials in the state have furlough days not those making a low income of only 19,000 a year.

It says any employee that makes over $70,000 to take a mandatory one week (5days) and is asking for those under $70,000 to VOLUNTARILY take one day off. I heard the FOP is going to ask for a vote and if 50.1% say yes to a voluntary day off the rest of the 49.9% have to suck on it. I say individual votes just like donating to charities. I vote no.
