Fischer is requiring employees that make OVER $70,000 to take furlough days.

I gotta admit I didnt want Fischer to win the election, but so far, he has done a pretty good job.

While I agree with the sentiment I would rather have the following in my contract than a simple raise:

- Better defined protections (i.e. better defined notice on change of hours and working conditions, etc, etc)

- Locked in Health plan that includes both Anthem and Humana.

- Guarantees on the cars - either take or leave em...

- or how 'bout charging officers to use 'em for out of county travel (say $50 for every 10 miles as the crow flies) - which could raise revenue.

- basically take the old county contract, modernize it and use it.

Now in order to save money, we can do the following:

1. Chief

2. 2 Colonels period

3. 4 majors

4. RECREATE Captain positions to run division or create a temporary "commander" rank for those lieutenants designated to run divisions. And get rid of 10-15 of the lieutenant posistions (give us an officer and a quarter for each of these)

5. Get rid of the sergeant positions for sgt's who have with no one under their command (with the obvious excemptions of of PIU and PSU)

6. Get rid of the leased vehicle program - the cost on this is retarded (no offense to people with retarded development on this)

7. Under KRS Law Enforcement can seek to have criminal investigation cost deferred by the defendant when they are found guilty. Also really use the nuisance residence ordinance to start charging the morons who think the police are their personal taxis, etc... Same for false alarm runs.

8. go ahead and shrink the SOP, make it simple and easy to remeber and understand. And once that is done hold us EQUALLY accountable for violations (this would help with the morale)

9. Take hald of what is remaining of the community service unit / dare / ??????? or whatever ou want to call it and put them back on the street. Make that a secondary duty.

I can go on, but then we would run out of space.
