Few signs of cruising on Broadway in downtown Louisville |
RE: Few signs of cruising on Broadway in downtown Louisville
To be fair to those that did receive vacation time, they did not receive it to enjoy the Derby Festivities. They were requested by dignitaries to be used as escorts during the Derby events and probably worked as hard or harder than those assigned to the track or Broadway. The requests had to come from the dignitaries themselves and had to be well in advance. These dignitaries are the ones that bring in the money that boosts the economy during this time of the year and providing them with the officers that they request is actually a benefit. You try keeping those types happy and you will quickly see how stressful that can be. Just my two cents worth and no I was not off, I was on Broadway.

Here's one thing you guys need to realize, and I'm just speaking from experience, but the fact is the thing you all are b!tching about has been going on long before some of you were even born, and will go on long after you have retired, no matter who the chief is. There will always be a good ole boy system, favorites played. It just changes with the style of the person in charge. Money talks, favors are done. It won't change. My advice is this- let it go like it is, maybe one day it will come around and benefit you. Fair? no. Fight it? losing battle. It's not worth losing sleep over. Stay safe.
