Like Stengel or not-at least he has the sack to tell the courier journal to go pound sand when they bother him. Sure wish others would do the same.

I am quickly losing heart here. Our prosecutors don't care about our cases, the laws are changing to cheapen everything we do. We put ourselves in danger a lot and the state just poos on us. Misdemeanor arrest are no longer arrestable except in certain situations, then before that, they begin to change the drug laws to make them have less serious consequences. If anyone would just sit and look, I am pretty sure there is a direct correlation between drugs and property/violent crime. I look at my misdemeanor cases they don't subpoena us for and see dismissed a lot more than I'd like. We can't enforce issues in our community because the thugs just laugh at us and say "dontmatter it'll just get dismissed". And our courts are okay with that. I don't have that long on and am just wondering if this is a wall that everyone hits or if I should just quit griping. Please offer some advice veterans. I do love my job about 75% of the time, but it has dropped from 125% I the past few months.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to keep doing what I do and just try my hardest to keep a positive attitude. I appreciate the veteran leadership here responding. I enjoy my job and just need a little push to remind me why I do this.
