Wow, You are correct. When I searched the on-line law about this, I found the stuff you posted. Maybe we need to presure the state reps to change the state laws on the constables. maybe we need to elect a constable the will run saying he will not patrol or do any or these things. Maybe we sould only elect a person to be a constable that is a former police officer.

In his rights to do law enforcement, but NOT to use lights (that requires approval he does not have) and NOT to swear in deputies. So. hold him to the law.

As for your statement about Whitlock, he is an idiot. There are responsible folks holding the office of constable, he isn't one - it's a power trip for him.
