I stand corrected, the sheriff himself can only be arrested by the coroner

The sheriff cannot do anything with him either.

Look at the law

This Constable has Offical tags on his Offical vehicle in which energency lights/equipment CAN be added. By law, Ky counties have to allow the elected Constable the freedom to use emergency lights and Can set requirements like minimum training hours. By law, that is the only control they have. By law, the County Judge Executive has the right to approve the ability to deputize deputy Constables.

Some counties in KY have attempted to eliminate this office but it has to be done from a state level and it is an uphill battle to remove due to some counties electing former LE officers retiring to the Constables office adding another LE officer out there in the small counties.

ALL we can do is elect the most qualified person to the Constables office. Just like the Sheriff, there is no training requirements for the office and very little control if the wrong person is elected (look how King Jerry could not be held accountable). Personally, I see this Constable trying to run a professional office and take advantage of the rights/privleges he has as an elected offical.

If you dont like how the office is ran, then when you retire, run for the Constables position and do as much or as little as you feel should be done as an elected offical.

By LAW, he is fully in his rights like it or not. . . I personally think he should be required to attend the same training as any other LE officer but it is NOT required BY LAW...........
