I really doubt you are using the Glocks and gun belts for personal use. The health insurance is a whole other issue and I the FOP needs to fight tooth and nail to keep the insurance good and the premiums low.

I don't see why anyone would have a problem paying a fee to drive the cars out of the county or to use them for off duty. I also honestly do not know why anyone would want to drive a marked police car anywhere but to and from work and to off duty. There is way to much liability associated with the cars in my opinion. You had also better be carrying additional personal auto insurance on them for any off duty usage. The city policy doesn't begin to cover enough for that. Finally, the media will be all over you if you have an accident while driving one. Keep the usage to and from work only and for off duty. Have a personal auto for all other driving. My two cents of the day.
