Twitter FarkIt Type Size A A A A former Louisville Metro Police officer who was involved in a scuffle that included her sister and an off-duty police officer at a St. Matthews bar last November pleaded guilty Monday to public intoxication and assault charges.

Lauren Fanning, 25, resigned from the police department less than a week after the incident and will face no jail time as part of her plea. She was ordered to pay $160 in fines and will remain under conditional release for two years, which means if she is charged with anything in that time she could face up to a year in jail, according to court documents.

Her sister, Kathryn Fanning, 23, also pleaded guilty to public intoxication and resisting arrest, was fined $160 and was placed under conditional release as well.

Both women had disorderly conduct charges dismissed.

The sisters were also ordered to stay away from the bar as part of their pleas.

They were arrested after Lauren Fanning interfered with an off-duty officer who was trying to arrest her sister Kathryn because she allegedly threw a drink on another person at Molly Malone's Irish Pub, located at 3900 Shelbyville Road, according to an arrest citation.

The off-duty officer had repeatedly asked the sisters to leave but they refused, which led to the scuffle resulting in the officer being kicked and punched, according to the citation
