So how old was the girl? I have seen anywhere form 18 to 23. So which is it?

Actually, I am a lawyer and intent is immaterial - the statute is what it is, and it applies when a parent gives a minor an alcoholic beverage. That doesn't mean they can get them trashed, could argue endangerment, then, of course. Doesn't apply to all their little buddies, either. It isn't just for religious, but for cultural reasons, as well. And personally, my parents allowed me a beer, etc, at family functions, mainly to make sure I wouldn't be enthralled with it as I got older.
If you doubt me, feel free to talk to a judge or a prosecutor about it - but don't assume they will know about it either - make sure you point them to the statute and ask them what it says.
