Competition? The economy? Are you kidding me? Somebody f**cked up and didn't apply for the grant properly and now the LMPD and all those victims lose out on a valuable resource. Somebody please have the balls to stand up and tell the trueth.

I doubt it. Victims advocates are prone to insinuating the police should do some crime fighting instead of racking up stats. If the money stopped, it was because the department didn't want them.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. People should get a concealed carry license and act to protect themselves. Only once in a blue moon does an officer catch a criminal in the act.
