Greg Fischer wins race for Louisville mayor after Hal Heiner concedes

As far as I know Hettich was a captain under Vaughn. He is part of Sheriff Greene's good ol' boy club. He and many others that are still there. What people don't realize is that Aubrey is just as vindictive as Hettich is. He was in the old Doston era and anyone from that era knows how cruel that administration was. I agree with you as well the sheriff's office has gone backwards in the last 4 years. I will give Aubrey some credit his first 2 terms he did do a alot for the deputies( merit system, better pay). But over the last four years he has become a lame duck and let Hettich run everything. All the majors all the way down to most of the sergeants have never been real cops before and they dont know how to handle these retirees. I am an ex-deputy and never been happier to be in a REAL law enforcement job. Sheriffs deputies are not allowed to be law enforcement officers they are only supposed to be court enforcement officers. Thats why they NEVER take accident reports they just call us when they need one done. I have a buddy who currently works there and he said they have supervisors who tell them to look the other way on DUI's. WTF!!!! Is that how we want our sheriffs deputies utilizing OUR tax dollars not me. I know DUI's are not their main priority but the law is clear YOU SHALL ARREST. idont think our deputies need to be punished for enforcing the law. Its no wonder they cant keep anyone who is worth anything there. Any new guy or gal with half a brain will do their 2 or 3 year contract and get the hell out of dodge. now you think that the sheriff would want to retain these good officers but they dont, they want men and women who are lazy and wont go above and beyond what their duties call for. I think the Sheriff needs to do a little bit of restructuring in his own agency and work out the kinks, promote supervisors who aren't idiots and are qualified to be supervisors. Now don't get me wrong they do have some good ones im sure but when I was there they didnt have many good ones.
