No brother. You didn't hit a nerve. Look at my post. There aren't any words in all caps and not one exclamation point. It's just a matter of fact. So what if we get to wear shorts and a polo shirt. The average temperature was over 100 degrees this summer. I'm glad we have options to make our job a little more bearable. You just need to realize that things change and police work has evolved. Cars, equiupment, clothing, the whole smash. If you are in a KSP uniform right now, look down at your feet. Are those patent leather chukkas comfortable? How bad do your feet sweat in the summer? How cold do your feet get in the winter? Do they make you a better policman? I wore a nice pair of black sneakers to work yesterday and I successfully made all 17 of my dispatched runs. You are still wearing the same pair of shoes your grandpa was making runs in. I think it's comical that you can't get out of your car without having to put that frisbee on your head. Thats just me. You mentioned in your response that you didn't mean any disrespect but your original post was full of comments insinuating that the LMPD is nothing but unprofessional slobs. Why don't you compare the education level and training of LMPD against most of the folks that show up to back KSP in the rural counties a regular basis. But these are points that you brought up. I'm sure those folks are more than capable and do a good job in the area they work. Me however, I barely graduated high school. But thats all you needed 18 years ago. Things have changed, police work has evolved and now applicants are consistantly better educated. Thats the point I'm making. I'll finish this by saying I was offended that you made it a point to come here and start firing shots at us as a department. It's unesseccary and uncalled for. Yeah, there are rude unprofessionals here but they are everywhere.
