Several years ago I lateraled to JCPD. I spent 6 weeks in a classroom learning the way JCPD did things. I was treated like a brother officer and not some pissant recruit who has no knowledge of police work. This department should hire laterals quite often. We are so short these guys and gals could literally hit the streets within SIX WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!! The last lateral class we had was 18 weeks a couple years ago.
