FOP still in fight with city over take-home car fees

The white stripes and working the beat with officers who took pride in their own areas. That sense of pride where you did not let anyone take a report or action on your beat that you should be taking care of. We have a lot of good officers out there now but beat pride is not taught like it used to be. Under the current process you don't have to take care of your beat if you get the stats. This pride was with the former city and I am sure the county (although was not from there) had the same pride.

Just watched Heartbreak Ridge and there is some truth that some of us are looked upon as antiques. Not really belonging to the new way of doing things but good to handle things when the S*1t hits the fan.

My favorite part of this post is where they say they miss being told when to wear long and short sleeve shirts, followed up with them missing being treated like an adult...
