Mayoral candidates receive public safety endorsements

Well - blame your bosses for that. The "task force" is only tasked with getting stats. How else do you explain arrests for simple POM (and no mouthing off)?

Yeah, OK. Get the big bad kid off the streets for the night. Having a joint is SO hardcore - right? Much like everything else LMPD command does, stats are the "be all, end all" for looking good; rumor is, the guy in charge was promised major if he beat last year on stats.

Wanna hear something even more retarded? Last week (Wednesday), we'd booked in 75 people in 5.5 hours. Seriously. For stupid stuff. That they'll be out via ROR before you get back to work the next day. We're seriously overcrowded, you can't get a probation officer to revoke for ANYTHING, and in the meantime, LMPD makes life more fun by arresting folks for what should be (at the most) a cite. Next thing you know, we'll be seeing arrests for crap like "failure to notify DOT of name/address change", and other such stuff. Stat-driven departments, that's what happens with them.

Pretty fricken rough on Corrections huh? Do you wanna take the turds home? No, I never worked at the jail. I came from a larger dept. When I dumped arrestee's i handed my paper out the window, and sherrif's dept's grabbed em' out the back. I know this though, you dump on the guys/gals at the jail, they won't give a crap about how long you sweat in the sallyport. Not up to them how long Joe DirtBag stays. Don't dump on them for aspiring to do your job! Maybe they will even do it better......
