And I'll note, these guys are generally not being paid to go - it isn't a duty assignment. I appreciate, for example, the LMPD honor guard going, but they aren't volunteering, they are getting paid to be there. It IS noticed, people, that even for a funeral close to Jefferson County, only a few, if any, show up in uniform and with a marked car.
