This is what we waited so long for?

Judge Perry took the cowardly and easy way out. If this is a typical type of decision that he makes on a daily basis, it reeks of potential exparte collusion with someone from the city. What will Perry get out of this? If our money was improperly and illegally taken, then we have the right to have it back. This decison is nothing but a form of extortion. Our options now are to say, oh well, if you (the city) will leave this issue alone, we won't argue about the money. Or, since the money is considered negotiable, hey we want our money and the city can now say, well you see, we might give it back, but then we still want you to pay. I am absolutely positive that ole' King Jerry is having a last laugh. Shame on you Judge Perry.

How in the world can a judge make a ruling that the money taken was not legal and in the same breath say that there is no responsibilty on the part of the taker to give it back?

The judge probably made his ruling after several calls from Abramson. This judge is spineless and afraid to tell Jer to give the money back. The FOP needs to get off the fence with negotiating with the city for our money, if they do we'll never see it. Appeal the part about negotiation to the Appeals Court because if the city had to give it back in a judgement you bet you as# they would appeal it. If you don't kiss you money goodbye and Jer get's the last laugh. They won't pay unless forced too ask the firefighters.

I am sick of waiting for the money taken from me by the Mayor. What is the FOP going to do now to get the money refunded? If we now have to sue to get it back, let's get started instead of waiting.

This "favorable" ruling is typical of Jefferson County law. Try to make both sides happy. If this money was taken in violation of the contract than it was taken improperly and dare I even say illegally.

Now if the Police took someone's money and accused them of having the money from some illegal activity and this person was found not guilty than the money would have to be returned.

I say the FOP should fight for this money even if it takes 20 years to get it and the whole time anywhere crooked Abramson and his thieving roadshow goes should be reminded of his past illegal activity. Jerry may have the ultra liberals of Louisville fooled but I am quite sure the conservatives of KY outside of Louisville will not tolerate nor vote for this thief and his crooked politics.

Kudos for the Officers for standing up to this bully thief, after isn't that their job anyway??

OK! It's time for our great president to get off his a** and address the metro council. The democrats don't want to look bad while trying to get Fischer elected and the same goes for the republicans.

Put the monley on their back, they have money to spend on wasteful crap everyday why not ask them to pay is make our money that was stolen from us.

The problems associated with this are very similar to those in past suits against the city. Abramson stalls, wins election once again..etc. This needs to be kept at the forefront from now until November. Pass it along to your friends out in the state. The firefighters waited 14 years or so and finally got their money. Abramson is a toll that has done much worse than this, but if you stack all the scandals, nepotism, poor hiring choices that helped ruin Louisville's economy then you will truly see the massive amount that voters ignorant of his true nature allowed him to do. He glad handed and smiled as he picked the pocket of this community. His wife sits on the board of Kordish and his son is yet another spoiled little rich kid criminal.

I want to take a moment on this page and THANK the FOP President (to Inlcude McGuire) and staff who had continued to persevere on these issues. THANK YOU Dave and Jon. Dont listen to the haters. Some us appreciate the hard work you both put into this.

As a County Attorney Mitch Perry was Mayor Jerry's chief union buster. He did so much irreparable harm to this community. He was the representative of Bill Schreck and covered up his racist behavior at IPL and negotiated the union busting activity by lying to a senile old Henri Mangeot. The guy is a snake and totally corrupt.

I would like to see the whole written opinion, because maybe there is something in there we have overlooked that would answer the question why Judge Perry did not address the issue of restitution. We weren't asking for damages or anything other than our money being returned to us. Remember that the KY Labor Cabinet made the ruling that it was illegal and to cease and desist and they fell short of ordering the money returned because they believed it wasn't their place to do so. The issue at hand was; "Did Abramson violate the contract?" They said yes. Judge Perry affirmed that decision. It would have been pretty simple for him to say give back the money, because remember the City attorney said last year the money has been put in escrow in case the courts affirmed the decision of the Labor Cabinet.

I still like the way this has been equated as someone breaking in your house and after getting caught the homeowner has to negotiate with the burglar to get his belongings back.

I saw in the paper this morning that State workers have filed a lawsuit over our idiot Governor's furlough plan. Really Steve???? Did you ask Jerry about this and how well it worked out here or are you just following in his footsteps or should I say missteps???

Ha!! This is hilarious! You SQUIRRELS who keep going out and locking people up to make yourself look good to your Sgt, and keep CANCELING your backup on two man runs, and KEEP taking two runs at a time because they have 5 more holding should feel SO PROUD of this lousy department!!

Jerry AND Joe Citizen DOES NOT GIVE A $h!t about you!!!

-But you go ahead...keep 'giving it your best' when you go in to work your SIXTH DAY IN A ROW (not getting overtime btw) and gets those STATS up there- by all means. You can feel good about yourself then, right! Besides- you have that shiny polyester uniform and that badge and gun still. That's all that matters right? Your a COP, by golly! Aren't you grand!!

WAKE UP!! We deserve a fair wage, decent hours, decent working conditions, WORKING equipment, etc...

SCREW with their STATS- That is the ONLY thing Bob and Jerry care about!!! Oh, and if you think the citizens of this community care about you- YOU ARE WRONG!!! Where are they? Where is the outcry about how the police, fire dpt are treated? THERE IS NONE!! Why does Jerry KEEP getting re-elected? NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOU OR YOUR FAMILY BUT YOU!!!!

Maybe someone needs to ask the mayor why it takes 25 minutes to get a ambulance to a man that has been electrocuted on a jobsite. Just another example of the lies on coverage by emergency services in this city. If LG&E and the media had any sense they would burn Jerrys A@S over this crap that's going on.

Off the subject... just watched the 10 O Clock news where Mac has been rehired in Bardstown. Then I saw some Idiot from the Justice Resource Center in B-town say he thinks Mac is a "general Thug" and he has low standards. He also thinks someone will get hurt and there will be trouble because of this. WHy does the news allow someone to say this on camera. The man was obviously illiterate and has no idea what kind of man Mac is. He is a mans man and one of the best cops i have known. Good luck man...dont let a few a$$e$ get you down.
