Amen to that. You hit the nail right on the head. This guy and many others on the department need to look in the mirror or look to the right or left of them. The public does have a positive perception of us. I also agree with a previous poster who pointed out that if you have a bad apple you are working with tell your sergeant. Uh...unfortunately most don't want to make waves and just hope to pass the buck or hope that it goes away. This is clearly how the Moore thing grew to the point it was. Bosses at the officer level not doing anything about a problem. Everyone knows the Courier hates the police and could nit pick just about anyone for something if they really wanted to, our profession is not perfect nor is anyone else's. We also know these reporters have a hard ..... for us anyway. Look how nasty they have been on the court stuff, blaming mainly us when it was an entire systems fault. These two ignorant a** reporters could'nt do a tenth of the job we do and probably got a ticket or something else so decided to mess with the police. These same two guys are the types that if a scumbag walked up and said give me your wallet they would freely hand it over like a couple of b*&*$es.

I was about to completely agree with you, but then your threw in that retarded insult of Tea Party supporters. The just strikes of ignorant liberal bias. Tea Party consists of ppl who are sick of the high taxes, with no end in sight and a government that rewards irresponsible behavior (specifically mortgage bailouts for those who made such bad financial decisions, individuals & banks)...if you'll remember it all started from some guy's rant about such things and a viral video of a guy as Thomas Paine. Get informed and keep to the issues if you wish to actually accomplish something.

Now, with that aside finished. I personally don't have a major problem with Chief White, mostly because I won't let my job dominate my life. When I go to work, I worry about myself, my fellow officers, the innocent ppl I serve, and try not to let the politics of it all drag me down. I certainly disagree with some of the decisions that have been made. What should be apparent to anyone who reads this blog is that there is still racial tension on the department and much of it has to do with white officers feeling as though their command/dept doesn't give them the same support as black / minority officers because of political perception. Whether or not this truly exists is one debate, but the fact that such a perception exists is problematic for the department and needs to be dealt with, not ignored or insulted. Again, this is where I fall into the mentality that you do what you can, where you are, and speak up when specific issues arise. It does nobody any good to simply complain or insult each other.

Actually, I'll disagree with that - "most people" do not expect obvious criminals to be wearing a badge. His antics were not juvenile - they are FELONIES - so why isn't LMPD charging him? Do you really want another agency to have to come in and file criminal charges against him? I'm white, and I could care less the race of the chief, or of Moore, but I do not want this guy policing MY city. I'm supposed to ignore a litany of crimes because, what?

FELONIES - for heaven's sake people, he's committing felonies and still drawing a paycheck.
