I forgot the crappy division..oops I mean TRAINING ACADEMY BUILDING. Lack of real drivers training or a place to even conduct drivers training because we get kicked out of everywhere for damaging property.

The BEST OF ALL...Our old firing range had 12 lanes. Mayor Jerry told the citizens of Louisville..WE ARE BUILDING A STATE OF THE ARE FIRING RANGE WITH 24 firing lanes for training. What Jerry and the Chief didn't say is WE ARE ONLY GOING TO USE 12 of the 24 lanes BECASUE THE CITY WON'T STAFF IT PROPERLY. WHAT A ******** JOKE! For goodness sake....hire retired firearms guys to come back and pay them 25 grand to help run 24 lanes.... OH YEAH I FORGOT THE CITY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT PUBLIC SAFETY!

Uhhh, every LMPD radio I've picked up has the ability to talk to EMS, etc. - but no, can't speak to the other agencies you mention because they aren't on the system, which I agree is stupid. But that is their choice. I know several have agreements to bridge when needed, though.

As for the in-car radios - don't speculate, investigate. If you care, do the research on the issue.

Despite the grammar, I understand you. I understand why you are ticked. I understand. What I don't get is this mentality that we as a nation aren't in a belt tightening time, which means we as an agency wil be dierectly effected.

Does this mean I am not angry at the fact that this MAYOR has STOLEN money over the years from federal and state monies designed to get us the equipment we needed? No, I am mad as H-E-L-L. But I can't scream about it anymore.

Am I mad that the bafoons who designed our new radio system didn't include an old drop style booster cradle (like what the old county and some of the city (narcotics and others) had) for the radios system? Yes. Would I like the in a VIABLE in car radio? H-E-L-L yes.

Am I angry that every time I have to reach on my shoulder to key a mike while I am driving I am probably guilty of driving while distracted, as a key up, try to focus on the response because I can't HEAR anything on this sysetm and can't hear if my brothers and sister's need help. H-E-L-L yes. I will admit that the "solution" that the radio tech advised of rolling my windows up seemed to improve the situation, but then I can't hear and smell the world around me and I miss what is going on around me - making me less viable as an officer and more at risk to those who would attack us.o

Do I wish that my command staff was more attentive to what the "reality" on the street was. H-E-L-L yes. I have a lieutenenant who has been "monitoring" runs and coming out, but never as back up. I have a sergeant who is probably emotionally retarded and could barely "lead" a pile of poop to water, but he can build one h-e-l-l of a model airplane or can spend hours researching a ibook or kendall or whatever the heck it is. Am I mad that this same supervisor doesn't even know how to do the job of a regular police, yet brags about his time on the other "old county, yet the "old county" types in the division, yet those other command types from the "old county" just seem to roll their eyes at him. I am ticked that other good supervisors are running away from this guy, so they don't have to deal with him. In fact I am disappointed of those other supervisors, 'cause I expected them to try and fix this.

See I can complain as well, but I will recognize the following. I can only control what I do on my beat, I can patrol the beat, arrest the bad guys, help the citizen and be the scourge of criminals and scoundrels during my shift. After that I have decided to go home and be a father, husband and friend and will tell anyone that ask that I am proud of my job and those I work with, but not of my agency and it's lack luster leadership.
