MetroSafe system gets $2.2 million for upgrades

What's funny is DOUG and JERRY told the public this will help all public safety agencies commuicate on one system....it's really another SMOKE AND MIRROR sale job....

On my current "New" (hehehe) portable Police radio I only have police channels and cannot talk to LFD, LMEMS or County Fire or Indiana etc......I am sure if the need arises and the dispatcher needed to they could patch me and the dispatcher would need permission from Jesus and give a 2 pints of blood to Doug and the supervisor to get it done.

Now, the "old" radio's in my police car Have LMEMS, LFD, County Fire, Shively, J-town on it. I can simply change to their channel in 1 second and talk... Lousiville is really a phuked up city.

I would bet since Louisville is the approximate 26 largest Police dept in the USA, we are the ONLY dept in those 26 that do not have IN CAR POLICE RADIO'S. I would not be suprised if we were the ONLY dept in the country, especially with 1200 officers.

I don't think our FOP has done anything of any substance in this matter. This is a HUGE matter of safety. I brought this up about a year before the new system even went into affect and about 99% of posters on here bashed me for saying we were only getting portable radios and not going to have an in car radio. I sent e-mai to DOUG and he said in a nutshell, "WHO EVER TOLD YOU LMPD IS NOT GETTING IN CAR RADIO'S IN LYING' and for not to believe everything I hear. WELL DOUG YOU LIED AND ARE TYPICAL OF LOUISVILLE GOVERNMENT!

The police stations are shittttty and need replaced and not put in a warehouse with not interior ceiling. 90% of the city fire stations are SHITTYYYYY, HQ is SHITTTTTTTTTYYYYY over 1/4 of our fleet has 150 and wayyyyyyyyyy more miles on them.... 2011 is quickly approaching and still every marked car still does not have a MDT or Camera when many depts. around the country of our size have had MDT's since the mid 80's.

THE HEADSETS FOR METROSAFE ARE A JOKE AND ADDS TO THE UNSAFE RADIO SYSTEM.. WE CAN'T PHUKING HEAR THE DISPATCHERS....Who cares if their headsets look different, they use their old ones or buy their own as long as WE CAN ******** HEAR U! (I don't blame the dispatchers...I blame DOUG, period)

I wonder how great Louisville could have been without 3 decades of Jerry as Alderman and Mayor!
