As a tax paying citizen and being involved in business I understand the financial system. I appreciate that Churchill is paying for police services for this upcoming event. Especially because it will bring in excess of 30 million to our economy. Money that our city will use and draw taxes off of to pay your salaries. As for the Breeders Cup the money generated will be in excess of 40 million and again tax money drawn to pay your salaries. There is no way that Churchill can pay for the police services for Breeders Cup as I am sure it requires a lot of police presence. By the way for an international event that draws international dollars. From what I have read on here you men/women do not understand how business works or how important these huge events are to our economy to include the small businesses in our community. You are quite simply being narrow minded and negative about events in our city. Additionally, large events require police presence for safety of the public spending dollars that pay you in our community. I understand you people pay taxes as well and go to those events so you too are included.
