If this was Facebook I would "like" this comment. You would almost think Metrosafe was ran by an EMS Director. I support them and love the great work they put in, but two installed radio's is a little much since we have zero. HNT and SWAT still can't even talk on the same radio systems! There are so many safety issues that I cannot wait to read about after everybody gets off work to post, since this site is not accessable at work except through smartphones. I am sure Metrosafe will get new chairs or new carpets for their new facility so they can call us when we can't call them. This in no way is directed towards dispatchers, calltakers, or EMS responders, just the directors!

They have two radios, why? Some of that is probably because the two crew members aren't necessarily together - if the paramedic is in the back they don't have direct access to the front, where the driver/EMT is located, so the paramedic needs an HT to talk from the back if need be, to the hospital, and of course they need to take it into the patient's home, also. When driving to the hospital, whoever is driving needs to be able to communicate with dispatch, also. If they have two mobile radios, it is probably because they need to communicate with someone not on the system, and I assume those are not new radios. I have to carry two now for that very reason, I still need to talk to people who aren't on MS.
