This is not related to article, but I just went to StonyBrook cinemas and they no longer offer police discount. They were bought out by a new company. This sucks!

IF YOU ARE A COMMANDING OFFICER, READ THIS. IT IS A LIST OF MINOR THINGS THINGS THAT IRK ME AND OTHER OFFICERS:

1. Officer A continually misses runs after being called by radio. Radio then calls me and I answer on first call because that's what I'm hired to do. No one ever says anything to Officer A about it. I'm tempted to ignore runs too, but my work ethic wont allow it so I guess I'll continue to be the sucker. And officers should stop saying, "I was out of the car." The year is not 1971-we have portables so now what's your excuse?

2. You advocate stats, stats, stats, but as soon as I am proactive and someone inadvertently gets their feelings hurt, I then become a problem child.

3. I am on a traffic stop and I am paying attention to my surroundings. I miss the status check so BAM!!! it becomes a 10-30. Based on the fact that almost all 10-30's are not warranted, it should be common sense to just have a single car ride by code one just to check. The tones illicit an over exaggerated response and can be dangerous.

4. If you are going to back someone up on a traffic stop, that means getting off your cell phone and actually getting out of your car and paying attention.

5. Roll call has become a joke!! Why do you allow people to be so unprofessional? The other day I watched in disgust as someone ate a hamburger at the roll call table. If I were a sergeant, this would not be allowed and if you don't see a problem with it, then you are the problem.

6. Too much canceling on the radio. Cancel once, make the run, and shut up! We need to get back to proper radio etiquette.

7. Who are the juveniles in the [blank] division who are always screaming in the background when an officer keys up? You think this is funny? If you are a c.o. you need to put an end to this.

8. Officers need to stop being so preoccupied with other officers' personal lives. People are going to gossip, but some of the stuff I hear is overboard. I will never gossip about another officer again. We need to respect each other personally and professionally and MIND OUR OWN BUSINESS!!!!

9. Overall, LMPD I love you. You keep me paid and I wont cheat you.

10. Would love to read what irks you.

F&%k, who cares??????? blame yourself, you all are the ones who go out and prevent crime, make arrest, lock up druggies, issue citations, stats stats stats, QUIT / STOP what your doing, let these thugs take over the cit, then YOU will get the much needed respect. Instead of giving Chief White a much not needed bonus for his crime stats that HE has done nothing to help with... It is the beat officers who solve crimes, murders, etc, Not the Chief who dont even know how to get from one end of the city to the other. LAY DOWN, i say again, LAY DOWN. Obviously the take home care program that he charged you for, and the showing up for Cout that you got a letter or days off for DOES NOT affect you!!!!!!!!!! It is going to get worse, QUIT making his pockets Bigger and yours getting looser! Draw your paycheck and let his infamous comp stat go through the roof. I dont get you people, fight fire with fire......

LMBO. I watched the Frist 48 tonight, Geeeezzz Barry Wilkerson is so lame! It is like he just fill's in for blank spots, you never see him doing anything. Oh wait He is too busy working his off duty jobs, so im sure he's way to tired to be the Commander over Homicide. You would think a Commander of Homicide would make his Detectives dress in proper attire, instead of wearing a beanie! Who could take a person wearing a beanie serious!.
