the only thing I will add to your post is if you are not trained to handle situations off duty why put yourself in them? I have been to runs where correction officers want to make the money but do none of the work. Anyone can call the police to come and handle the situation but if you are working there you are getting paid to handle it. Other than that I can agree with your post.
