We keep our problems to ourselves - you should try it one day.

Plus, there's the added problem of having half your agency look down their noses at us. For an agency that touts themselves as being so highly trained, why can't your newbies do a fricking citation? You've got what, 32 weeks at the academy plus like 22 or so weeks of PTO? Can't figure out how to write a proper citation in that amount of time?

There's also the search issue. It's always fun doing paperwork for stuff YOU should have found to begin with, but were too lazy or squeamish to find. If you're scared to touch a person in their naughty parts, hang up the belt, turn in the badge, and go work for your local church. Otherwise, please help to prevent drugs and weapons from being taken into our facility. I'm waiting for the say one of our officers takes a bullet on the grill because you didn't search between his buttcheecks and find the Raven .25 auto he had. I once searched a prisoner that a retired LPD (then U of L PD) guy brought in. He neglected to search the person, as evidenced by the fifth of vodka I found in his waistband.

So, we'll stop being butthurt when your agency stops hiring clowns that think they're better than us because they got 32 weeks of useless training (no offense, BP). DOCJT is only 18 weeks, and they control the certification process. Wouldn't the 14 weeks be better spent on the road, instead of in a classroom? I know I'm going to offend the training gods here, but seriously - after a certain point, you're wasting time and money by having the newbies in a classroom and not doing field work.

All in all, most of you are decent folks who work with us. But, I've had too many issues with arrogant pricks to not be wary of you folks. Granted, those are usually the younger officers, but really - isn't that all you have anymore? I can remember days when 20-25 years in service was short time. It wasn't anything to see 30 years and over. These days, if you see a guy with 20 or more, you ask him what's wrong with him that he feels the need to stay.

I guess what I'm saying is - fix your own problems before you worry about ours.

Sir, bash the LMDC administration and you'll have the CO's full support. Bash a CO and things will be different.
