Think about it. This Chief by far does the opposite when it comes to reporting crime. Been around here for over 18 years and we take more reports now for crimes we never would have taken a report on before. If anything there is an over reporting of crime in a lot of areas. Perfect example most of the guys now take theft reports on stuff where in many cases some lost or misplaced property. Never saw such a bunch of afraid to not take a report people in my career. All it takes is a little questioning of a possible victim instead of trying to hurry out the door. Just an opinion but have seen a trend of over reporting crime and allowing people to call and report anything they want as stolen when we know it was'nt. No more warrants advised or nothing when we all know if you required someone to take a warrant they would never even prosecute or take the warrant.

If Chief White is allowing someone who is a convicted felon to carry a gun in contravention of Federal law, refer that incident to the BATFE. The Feds will be happy to take something like that and run with it. I'm not one to jam up a fellow officer, but if he's a felon - eff him.

If you need the number for BATFE, I'll post it for you. I'd call myself, but I don't work for LMPD and don't really know what you guys are talking about. I assume it's about a gentleman named Brown I saw mentioned in a different story...but I don't know what that's all about or even if the rumors are true. If they are, call BATFE. It's illegal for a felon to have a handgun per federal law.
