100%,, and maybe 1 or 2% extra for being female.

Look at "Oprah" Explain to me how you can justify going from Sgt. to Lt. Col. in less than 5 yrs. bypssing multiple.

It is always a pleasure to see that we are not alone out there. There are other well educated people that also see the irony of having a fox guarding the hen house. Have you noticed how many of Abramson's appointees have been found to be corrupt, incompetent, unqualified (all the above)? Why would anyone have thought that White would have been any different? Funny how some of the only good ones that Abramson appointed were ones that were home grown like Chief Fredericks.

I have a simple question to the author of this website. How come you seem to write about Chief White or anyone that you seem to feel he gives "special treatment" to. But I have not read a single posting or article about Louisville-Metro Police Detective Crystal Marlowe. From what I have heard and read, she was in the least negligent, bordering on criminal in regards to the way she conducted her investigations and obtained or presented evidence. Especially in regards to Tiffany Washington, a University of Louisville student was arrested by her in April 2008 and charged with robbing a West Hill Street apartment on Dec. 22, 2007, assaulting a woman and stealing jewelry and a flat-screen television. But during questioning by Detective Marlowe, Washington said she had evidence; photographs, telephone records, bank and store receipts and video and eyewitness testimony showing she was 130 miles away, on the night of the robbery, Washington spent five days in jail before her $50,000 cash bond was reduced to an amount she was able to post. In May 2008, a grand jury declined to indict her. So my question is why the hell did this even get sent to the Grand Jury... Just to point out something, the last 3 postings regarding police officers who were under some type of investigations, featured individuals who were not white. If you are going to post the "dirty laundry" it should be completely aired out, not just what you want. My personal view is that neither the officer in this article, nor Detective Marlowe should have their badges anymore, but that is a personal opinion. As far as it goes about Chief White, I do not know the man personally, but I know that most Police Chiefs are usually not liked by their rank and file, especially when they are from the outside and try to hold their own accountable for their actions or do things different form the "sam old, same old". Now I do not know if there is a racial divide going on within LMPD, or rank & file vs. command, etc. What I do know is that since I moved here after my retirement, I have met a number of LMPD Officers who seem to like to use racial epitaphs on a regular basis in personal conversation. I have also met others that have seriously abused their powers, such as the officer who while intoxicated pistol whipped one person and put his weapon to the head of a bouncer in a bar while laughing, and then threatened them both if they said anything. I know about this, because the bar manager that covered it up was his friend & roommate dated a friend of mine's daughter and he told us all about this, thinking it would impress us, including the officer's name. I informed him that I am a retired police officer and that he was an idiot and his friend should be in jail. Funny thing was a few weeks later I saw a brief news story about this and then like all the others it disappeared. I can honestly say that i am so glad that i am retired, because reading and seeing actual video footage about Seattle, PG County, ICE makes me embarrased to even say that I was once a Police Officer. We seriously need to stop tolerating these type of cops within our beloved job.

Employed and Grateful!

Well to be sure, both are fruit, and both may be rotten, however Jackie's is the fruit with the definatively rotten criminal spots. Unfortunately for your arguement Marlow's behavior may not rise to being criminal, just lazy - which has been celebrated and expected by many members of our leadership.

Away to document and report!

Huh....is there a pattern here? A female, who as a sgt. was investigated for lying also in reference to an internal investigation and has never been disciplined. It was held back so she could be promoted and it is still open case on the chiefs desk. If it is left open it is not public record and it stays under the rug.....this place sucks!.....unless you bowl.

I found this article about the Atlanta Police Chief Search. Jesse if you made these statements with the intent of getting him to leave, it is somewhat forgivable, if not you owe McKenzie Mattingly an apology.

http://www.publicbroadcasting.net/wabe/news.newsmain/article/1/0/1658296/Atlanta/Atlanta.Police.Chief.Finalist.Robert.White

WABE's series profiling Atlanta police chief finalists continues today with Robert Crump White. Since 2003, White has been police chief in Louisville, Kentucky. When he campaigned for that job, White stood out to Louisville Urban League head Benjamin Richmond. He was impressed that White was police chief in Greensboro, North Carolina and spent 28 years in Washington D.C.'s police department.

"Chief White I thought had better experience, a better history in dealing with a city like Louisville" Richmond said. "We are a diverse city. We have a sizable, minority population (and) African-American population."

White became Louisville's first black police chief. In 2003, Louisville and Jefferson County merged their police departments. That meant a lot of changes but one big one in particular. White decentralized the police department. Richmond noticed White moved away from traditional policing and more towards teaming with residents to fight crime.

"Some people say we don't have community oriented policing. I think under Chief White I think that's been a priority," Richmond said.

The change wasn't coincidental according to Jessie Halladay. The Louisville Courier Journal reporter says controversy rocked the Louisville police department before White became chief.

"There had been some use of force incidents in which officers had shot and killed suspects," Halladay said. "That had created some tension between public trust and police and he was faced with trying bridge that gap and regain community trust."

To fix that, Halladay says White went to a different church every Sunday. The Urban League's Richmond says the strategy has worked.

"He knows how to build with the grass roots all the way to the corporate (and) all area elected officials," Richmond said. "He has their respect.".

However, the outreach came at a cost. Halladay says White often butted heads with the police union.

"Some officers and particularly union involved officers believe that he skews more on the community's side than on what's best for the officers' side," Halladay said.

The police union did not return interview requests. Halladay says tension came to a head in 2004. A drug suspect was fleeing when a Louisville officer fatally shot him in the back. The officer was found not guilty of murder. However, Halladay says White fired the officer for violating the department's use of force policy.

"The chief was willing to stand up for what he believed was right and have consequences against officers who didn't follow the rules," Halladay said.

This year, White has also been a finalist for Dallas' police chief. White is leaving because Louisville's Mayor is resigning and it's unclear if his successor would keep White on the job.

Did you read the article from the Atlanta paper where White said he stopped prostitution by calling the wives of the perps and taking their cars! What a lie! This guy wouldn't know the truth if it hit him in the mouth. Attention media this is a lie!lie!lie!..................just have him show you the tow records. (That don't exist)

The Mayor of Atlanta said he was not impressed with White because White was taking to long to get to know Atlanta. I guess it helps if you actually show interest in the job you apply for.

Excerpt From AJC Story on the 3 finalist for chief

http://www.ajc.com/news/atlanta/no-clear-cut-leader-541417.html

The APD has one of the worst track records in the nation in officer retention, and Turner said the major reason was pay.

"We lose officers who have two and five years [experience] at a critical time; when that officer is just learning how to be a police officer," Turner said. "And pay is the No. 1 reason."

White said his Louisville department is considered a desirable place to work. "What attracts officers and keeps them there is the pride they have in their department," White said. "We are a flagship agency and members are proud to be there. Officers feel relatively respected. They have equipment and they have input in what we do."

WOW! Where do we start, the article mentioned SO many people who are worthless...Mark Baker is a lazy and worthless POS, Hollingsworth...POS The good news is UNDER KENTUCKY LAW, not Mark Baker or the ACA Office law, Hollingsworth(less) felonies can still be investigated and she can still go to the can to be with her son. We must overhaul our government from the mayor down. This is embarassing, but not really shocking. Remember all hte idiots during the next election and fire them all. Vote Republican...Shut up trucker
